classical music vs baroque music
Parents can assist and promote successful learning of their children by providing a positive study environment. Here are some of the ideas we have for the parents of children who attended the Super Camp, our summer enrichment program for youth and adolescents. Children spend much time studying at home (hopefully!) Why not do them help the Commission to accept responsibility for the study room and it work for them? With some effort, it can actually have a positive, attractive area in which they feel comfortable and motivated.
In all of our Quantum Learning lessons we build an awareness of an important concept? we are at Super Camp and we use it in our Teacher training and school programs? and it is also recalled that, in creating a positive study environment at home. Everything points means that everything in the environment sends a message either enhanced or impaired learning. Think about tidy vs. cluttered chaos, light and airy vs. dim and dark, warm, functional vs. any old place.
Location
As they say in real estate, location is everything. Find a place of calm and free from distractions? Yes, if possible, not the family room or the dining room table! The ideal is a defined study area in the bedroom of your child.
Body
Make sure home study areas have good lighting (in the Ideally, natural light and a lamp), shelves for reference books and supplies and a computer, if necessary. Obviously, they will also need a desk or a table with space for their study materials and work area is not cramped. And a comfortable "sit-upright" chair will help them stay alert and concentrated.
Resources
Make sure your children do not have valuable study time looking for a pen waste! Help them to have up to Pens, paper and pencils, and they are all within easy reach, not just somewhere in her room! Also make sure they have whatever reference material they need.
music
Some classical music is "brain friendly" and improve the study environment. Baroque music helps students to concentrate and to their most resourceful Access learning state. The music optimized the functions of the brain that store and retrieve information. Many (most? Will think!) That their own children's best is, but try, try to convince Baroque? they may also find that they make their studies a little easier and want more! Suggest that they try some Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, or during the study are, and save their own music for the breaks. If your kids are resistant, could be a first step ensure that they are not the music, select the above words? Words interfere with part of their brain they need to study effectively, even if they do not hear very aware the words!
Affirmative Character
Positive signs will remind your child's subconscious mind to learn its potential. Help your child an inspiring atmosphere, by moving to provide some evidence? "Tying up a lot of color (our brains love color!) And the following ideas to get you started:
– I believe in myself
– Everything I Do my best EARNED
– LEARNING IS FUN AND OF COURSE!
– Each Challenge OFFERS A GIFT
– I am unique and valuable
– I am responsible for what I CREATE
– I Can Learn THIS!
– Everyone has the RESOURCES BE SUCCESSFUL!
Another good idea is an achievement in the field have (a bulletin board would be good) for awards, papers with good grades, and lists of the benefits. A bulletin board would be good for the posting of work Study schedules and reminders of project due dates.
Homework help
To help your show of interest, support and guidance your child a positive study environment at home will go a long way toward establishing large homework habits. It is also to create a good idea and agreed on guidelines for Homework, so you can continue to work together for success. Why not a special lunch together and a plan that work for both of you? They could also consider a reward for consistently following "the plan."
– Homework time: Sometimes it is not easy because the extra-curricular activities, but try to define a particular time, that daily homework is started.
– Distractions: Less Distraction means more productive time. Create a plan with your child about the time for phone calls, Internet surfing, and gaming.
– Breaks: Breaks are important. Research shows that students remember, the information learned to "Beginnings" and "ends" of periods of study. Thus, a Better storage detail when we made frequent breaks. A ten-minute break after each hour of study time to learn. (For younger children, who not so long Study periods, five minutes break every half hour will work just fine.)
– Flexibility: You need to be both agreed flexible? Sometimes homework must Starting a little later, ie sometimes a family commitment, starting a little earlier, sometimes a break can have a little longer than five or ten minutes. Flexibility keep you and your child connected!
