For me, mainstream music has never been brilliant. If "today’s music" means what’s in the charts, I think a lot of it is diabolical. But I’ve learnt not to listen to mainstream radio and I find out about bands online, at my local independent record shop (who now have their own label – big up Banquet Records!), and from music magazine like NME, MOJO, Uncut, etc.
It’s more of a struggle now for original bands and artists to break through and stay popular on the same level as the commercial stuff like Taylor Swift or Gaga – I’m a huge fan of Elbow and they’ve working their arses off for about twenty years and still have not reached anywhere near the level of success they deserve. I think there is just as many talented, interesting and innovative individuals out there as ever we just have to look a lot harder than people do at the moment.

It’s stupid, to me. Ugh.

mainstram is mainly rubbish, but there are the odd gems.
Muse are the best band in the world.
The Killers are also awesome.
Justin bieber smells.
disney stars suck.
Alternative/indie rock is cool.
Last.fm is useful.
I am a MUSE fan.
music influences how people dress.

today’s music can’t just be defined as the mainstream. one because that is by no means the only music about, just because it’s forced upon us by being contantly played and shown everywhere you go, it doesn’t mean to say that is all that exists.
and two, i really don’t want crappy mainstream music to define what today’s music is. there is plenty of good music about, yuo just have to venture beyond the radio, which im sure alot of people are yet to do.
im into metal, so the radio is not the place i go when i want to hear it. there are plenty of great metal bands about still, aswell as up and coming. like i say, you just have to look beyond the radio and what other people like instead of jumping on that same mainstream bandwagon that so many do these days.

Canned spam music played with no heart and a bunch of machines. I like that old time rock and roll.

Well, thats a really good question… I like some people like Owl City, or Train. Paramore is pretty awesome too. My all time favorite artist, EVER would definitely be U2. Right now I’m listening to All the Small Things.
I like Lady Gaga’s style music, but I hate everything that comes along with her, so I dont listen to her. and Justin Bieber… oh my gosh. I’m not even gonna talk about him, because I would probably get my account suspended.
What is your opinion on todays music, Mr.Mimzy guy? Haha I like most of the questions you put on here.

heres the truth there is good new music u just gotta look for it, metal’s futures lookin good we got lazarus ad, warbringer, municipal waste, silent civilian, dirge within etc… rock u got anew revolution they’re pretty good, but the pop crap is just producer made bs

The underrated artists are better than those that are topping the charts. Mainstream music sounds the same to me. Hip hop is mixing with pop. Pop is mixing with country. Country is mixing with rock. Then, they all add auto tune and it sounds ridiculous.
I’ll stick with the music from the 80s and 90s.

It’s starting to suck. People who make stupid songs are more popular for some reason. The artists and bands who are actually good are don’t get the attention that they deserve. I miss music for the 90s and early 2000’s

I only have to look at Justine Boober and Miley Curious to know music is in the crapper.
